A starting point for everyday writing
Choose from 12 activity types for a short or detailed daily-report draft. Prepare closures, events, supplies reminders, meeting invitations, general payment reminders, or a message opening. Edit the wording before using it.
School facts stay with your school
Owners approve opening hours, pickup steps, and supplies for staff reminders. Dates, times, and approved facts are added inside Ashby after generation. Child names, medical details, photos, and conversations are not sent to the AI provider.
Reuse wording without another AI request
Save reviewed wording for next time. Entries are private to you within your school, expire after 90 days, and can be reused with AI off. Keep reusable wording free of names and child details.
Ask Ashby when you need an answer
Staff can search verified Help guides locally or ask Ashby a question after reading the privacy notice. Ask Ashby returns guidance and links to matching Help, but it cannot edit records, send messages, or perform a task for you.

Common questions
How do we access AI drafting?
AI is built into the report and message workflows but is not enabled for every school. Your owner must accept the optional AI terms, and the service must be activated for your school. You can keep using Ashby with AI off.
Will an AI draft be sent automatically?
No. Generation only creates an editable draft. Staff review it, choose Use draft, and separately save, share, or send.
Can staff paste any child note into AI?
No. Drafting uses supported activity choices and message topics. Sensitive child information, existing conversations, photos, and unrestricted notes are excluded.
Can we reuse wording with AI off?
Yes. Private saved wording and approved school facts stay inside Ashby. Reusing saved wording does not make an AI request.
Can Ask Ashby change a record or send a message?
No. Ask Ashby only explains how Ashby works and links to verified Help. You still open the destination screen and complete the work yourself.
