Getting started

Ashby is the software for your daycare. First you create an account and name the program. Hours, rooms, staff, and families can wait. You can run the school from staff screens without a parent login. Connecting parents is highly recommended so they can do their part on Ashby.

1. Create an account with email and a password, or continue with Google. Check your inbox if we send a verification email. There is no demo call and no credit card to start.
2. Enter your first name, whether you are in-home or a licensed center, the legal business name, and the address where children come. If parents know you by a different name, add that too.
3. Read and accept the Terms, Privacy Policy, and Data Processing Agreement.
4. You land on Home. After you sign in, open Setup from the left menu any time to change this. Invite parents when you can — it is the better way, not required.

Ashby keeps your program in a few simple pieces. You will see the same names in Setup, Team, and Children.

• You — the person who created the account. Your first name is how Ashby greets you. You are the owner.
• Program — the business. Licensed center or in-home, legal business name, and an optional name on the door if parents know you by something else.
• Location — the place children come. Hours, rooms, and tuition belong to this location. Bank sits on Your school — one account for the whole program. A second location later gets its own hours and rooms.
• Room — a named space at that location. You assign staff and children to rooms on Team and Children.
• Team, Children, and Enrollment — people who work at the program, the roster, and families waiting for a spot.
• Parent login — optional. Staff can add children and move statuses without it. It is highly recommended so parents can do their part on Ashby.

The first time, Ashby asks for you, the program, the address, and the legal documents. Hours, rooms, tuition, and Bank can be skipped — they do not block adding a child. United States and England addresses work today.
