What this is

Plan classroom activities and keep a dated portfolio of educator observations for each child.

Do this

  1. After signing in, open Learning and choose your school. In Lesson plans, add a date, room and activity, then Save plan.

  2. In Child portfolios, choose a child, add an observation and Save privately.

  3. Open Actions, then Review sharing. Check the preview before Share with family.

  4. Corrections stay private until shared again. Use Stop sharing to remove the family’s copy. Families open Learning to read observations shared for their linked child.

How it works

Plans belong to a school and optionally a room. Owners, organization admins, directors, assistant directors and educators can work in Learning; educators stay within assigned rooms. Support staff cannot read learning content.

Each dated observation records a goal, domain, educator-marked progress and what was observed. Choose Observation, Working toward goal or Goal reached. The history is not a diagnosis, developmental score or assessment checklist. Framework and objective references come from the school’s curriculum; Ashby does not supply licensed materials or certify alignment.

Saving is private. The family sees only the last explicitly shared version for their linked child. Private corrections stay hidden until reviewed and shared. Recorded custody restrictions require school review.

Archive keeps the staff record and removes family sharing. Restore does not re-share it. Portfolios follow child-file retention, holds and export rules. Child notes are written by staff and are not sent to an AI provider.
